Love stories have a way of writing themselves, but Melissa and Mark’s journey feels like it was truly meant to be. As a Ontario wedding photographer (www.loveintheairstudio.com), capturing their spring wedding on May 17, 2025, was not only an honor, but an absolute joy. From their heartfelt ceremony at Stephen Leacock Musium, Orillia, Ontario to the romantic forested celebration at Drysdale’s Tree Farm, every moment was pure magic.

How Melissa & Mark Met
Melissa and Mark first connected in a way that’s becoming more and more common—on Bumble. At the time, both were living in London, Ontario. Their first date? A laid-back night out with beer and tacos. That one evening sparked something special, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
In one of their many conversations, they discovered a shared hometown connection: Melissa and Mark both were from Orillia/Barrie, just a short drive apart. To make the coincidence even sweeter, Melissa actually grew up knowing members of Mark’s extended family—though somehow, the two had never crossed paths before.

The Proposal: Full Circle Love
After years of building a life together in London, Melissa and Mark made the decision to move back to Orillia to be closer to their roots. It was during that transitional moment—after packing up their London apartment—that Mark got down on one knee and asked Melissa to spend forever with him. The proposal was intimate, nostalgic, and full of love.

The Wedding Day
Ceremony at Stephen Leacock Museum, Orillia, Ontario in the heart of downtown Orillia, the museum offered a unique and historical backdrop for their ceremony. With stunning architecture and natural light pouring in through the grand windows, it was the perfect place to say “I do.”

Reception at Drysdale’s Tree FarmThe celebration continued at Drysdale’s Tree Farm, a breathtaking venue surrounded by towering evergreens. Guests were treated to a cozy yet elegant reception filled with rustic details, string lights, and heartfelt toasts. The golden hour portraits among the trees were absolutely dreamy.

A Note on the Couple
Melissa and Mark’s day was filled with laughter, happy tears, and the kind of authentic love that lights up a room. They’ve built their relationship on shared values, deep conversations, and a beautiful reconnection to their hometown roots. Documenting their day was a reminder of why I love what I do—capturing the real, unscripted moments that make a wedding unforgettable.
